Come Follow Me - Romans 8

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which
God hath bprepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9

I'm loving Come Follow Me.  I have to admit that some weeks (like last week) are harder than others.  But I can attest to the fact that it has made me love the scriptures more.  Stacey made a list of the blessings that have come just from doing it in her family.  I believe that's true.  The Lord will bless even our smallest effort.  Just how good are these promises in Romans 8

  •  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  Bang!  This has always been one of my favorites.  Not just our good choices or righteousness, but everything...our sorrow, our trials, our sings, our prayers....everything

  • If God be for us, who can be against usThis scripture is one that Dr. Schuller from The Hour of Power always quoted.  I use to watch it on Sundays faithfully as a teenager.  From listening to him, I wanted to read the Bible.
This great quote from the lesson:  read it 2x -- especially the part that says, "those trials are the very thing which qualify us for eternal life and exaltation in the kingdom of God with our Father and Savior."

I do not know why we have the many trials that we have, but it is my personal feeling that the reward is so great, so eternal and everlasting, so joyful and beyond our understanding that in that day of reward, we may feel to say to our merciful, loving Father, ‘Was that all that was required?’ I believe that if we could daily remember and recognize the depth of that love our Heavenly Father and our Savior have for us, we would be willing to do anything to be back in Their presence again, surrounded by Their love eternally. What will it matter … what we suffered here if, in the end, those trials are the very things which qualify us for eternal life and exaltation in the kingdom of God with our Father and Savior?” (“Worthy of Our Promised Blessings,” Ensign or Liahona, Nov. 2015, 11).

 Paul's testimony

  • For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
  • Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
On Come Follow Me for Us, Melanie made an analogy of the pioneers – how they couldn’t even imagine a microwave – that you can take a frozen chicken and thaw it in minutes and cook.  Or even a cell phone or an airplane.  Likewise we cannot imagine all the God has in store for us.
