Ordinary Saturday in July

Well you know how I like to do all our traditions in the summer.  So this morning, I wanted to wake up and drive 5 hours to the Hill Cumorah pageant, but dad wasn't up to it -- he likes packing all the camping things and staying 2 nights -- he wasn't up for this up and down in one day thing.  So scratch that.  Then I thought we could go ride roller coasters.  We looked at all those within a 2 hour drive and decided on Great Escape in Lake George and didn't go there either.  So after we did all our chores, we had lunch at Subway and went over to New Paltz to our first ever Chalk Festival!!  It was a fun way to spend a couple of hours and see some great artists.  Then we came home, dad and Charly swam in the pool, I made a quiche.  Then we ate outside having quiche and fresh fruit for dinner.  Now we are watching Parent Trap and eating cinnamon/sugar pretzels that Charly and I made.  Food accompanies everything!

A festival isn't complete without face painting!!  They even had a car that you could draw all over with chalk!
