Baptism for Zoey and Afternoon Tea at the Grand Hotel

Zoey turned 8 in October!  It is a milestone in our Church because it is age of accountability where a child can choose to be baptized.  And Zoey wanted to be baptized!

To mark the occasion as special, I made the two of us a reservation the day before her baptism at the Grand America Hotel for an Afternoon Tea.  It was the fanciest thing I have ever been to.  Even the towels in the ladies' room were cloth, not the ordinary paper towels.  We sat on a little love seat and were served fancy foods.  First, was strawberries and cream, then fancy sandwiches, then macroons and pastries.  Zoey had a whole pot of hot chocolate to herself along with a bowl of whipped cream, and I choose a fancy herbal tea that tasted like roses.

Being the 8 year-old that she is.  Zoey stuffed herself!  Then she was ready to go.  I took that as an opportunity to explain the difference between fast food and food that is a culinary experience!  It was a great time to relax, get to know each other even better, and to listen to the harpist.

The next day was her baptism.  She was baptized by her father, Jacob Hyrum Nelson and we celebrated in style!
