Sometimes He Lets It Rain

Sometimes He lets it rain, He lets the fierce winds blow.
Sometimes it takes a storm to lead a heart
 where it can grow.
He can move mountains of grief and oceans of pain, but sometimes He lets it rain.
There is no joy without the pain.
Sometimes, He has to let it rain.

Trials - who needs them?  Well, I hate to admit this but we do!  This month has been a month of trials.  Bill has been out of work since August.  We were really good with that because it afford him time to relax, time to be with our family in Utah, time to catch up on all the tree work he has to do, but by the time October rolled in, we were looking forward to a UPS job.  Then Bill got sick.  He's never one to complain, but he was so weary and lethargic.  I started to imagine the worse and wonder if he could ever really work again.

Then, we got news that Skipper's colonsocopy wasn't as it should be and he would need further tests and treatments.  This is Skipper's worse fear.  Though I have confidence that things will be fine in the end, I wish it was something we didn't have to deal with.

Then, Julie was rushed to the ER and nearly died.  She was in intensive care for days and is slowly recuperating at home now.

Then we fasted.  I learned to pray specific prayers.  Burdens were lifted.  Bill started to feel better, a job came through with the hopes of another one on the horizon.

I know that it is through trials that we really learn to depend on God's help.  We learn to pray better.  We remember Him more. The Lord is there.  We just need to learn to ask specifically for the things we need, and as soon as those prayers are uttered, a plan is set in motion to have those prayers answered.
