Josephine

1 hour old - listening to everything we say
Let's talk about Josephine Nicole!  She just turned 5 months old and she's growing up before our eyes. Josephine is a pretty calm little baby.  She loves to listen to conversations almost like she's an old soul who is taking the world in. She's not a big fan of laying down on her back and tries to force herself to sit up because she doesn't want to miss a thing.  She has no interest is rolling over from her back to tummy but loves her hands and fingers!  She's fascinated with them.  She always has a smile for everyone who greets her.  She keeps entertained by watching Charly dance!  She's a snuggler too!  One fact about Josephine is that she doesn't spit up.  Never has.  I didn't know that was a thing.

2 day old Josephine ready to meet the world
Little Jo, Jo Jo, Joey or Josephine was born on Sept. 17th at about 9 p.m.  She weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz.  She was named after my mother, Josephine Galasso Cabrol.  Her middle name is after her Aunt Stacey Nicole; Nicole is from my grandfather, Nicholas Galasso.  So a long family history.

Eve was with Jess when she gave birth.  Jess had the whole birth plan pretty well set.  There were some concerns about how Josephine would tolerate labor but she came through like a champ without a disruption to the birth plan!  Jess had made a scrapbook for affirmations and pictures of women in her life that she cherishes and admires.  Eve rocked Jess in her arms like a dance partner and read to her from the book when labor became intense.  Labor was progressing too quickly and Josephine was born with the cord around her neck.  That was pretty alarming to see so many nurses working with Josephine as I walked into the room.  But Jo is a trooper.  Birth is truly a miracle.  A new life in the room that wasn't there a second ago.  Angels all around, both physically and in spirit.
