End of Summer Day!!
Today we started out to go to Freedom Lake with the Ashworths but when we got there the Lake was closed!!! Hurrican Irene got to it! So since Whaley Lake was in the same condition -- the beaches were washed away -- we decided to go up to Lake Taconic. Still a great day. Lots of just sitting, talking and watching the kids play. I am going to miss these days.

At night dad, charly and I went to Barton Orchards for fireworks. Dad, who knows everything, said these aren't going to be good. Wrong again!! From the start they were amazing!! Each firework was like watching a finale somewhere else. Plus they had all the patriotic songs playing. So it was a good time. They had a band playing and Charly got to show the crowd her moves as well. Dad wasn't too pleased with some of the moves though.
Now dad is involved in some disaster recovery via the Church. He has to meet with someone from SLC today and tomorrow. Some counties around here were hit pretty bad. In one town to the north of here, only one building remains -- and someone has a friends who was killed when her house washed away. If nothing else, start with an emergency evacuation plan. Then worked on preparing your 72 hour kits. Remembering things you would need for the kids to take with you.
