FAMILY MEALS

The statistics are clear: Kids who dine with the folks are healthier, happier and better students, which is why a dying tradition is coming back

Remember the Ketcheson's.  Well they had a son, David.  Smart boy.  Well he lived in Provo at the time and took the SAT test.  He was planning on school in the East and that's the test he needed instead of the ACT.  Anyway - he comes home from school, the results were in the mail and he opens it up and Linda, his mom, says "what did you get?"  And he says, "an 800 and an 800" and goes into his room.  And Linda thought, --poor guy, he didn't do so well.  She thought "good was 1,000 and 1,000.  Little did she know he got a PERFECT score which is nearly impossible.  Soon the phone started to ring, the school district, radio stations, newspapers, TV stations.  The Ketcheson's were interviewed and Roger was asked "How did you raise a son to achieve a perfect score on the SAT?"  He responded, "We eat dinner together."  We laughed because it sounded so silly.  But more and more evidence is proofing that kids that eat family meal together are healthier, happier and do better in school.  Remember our dinners, on that little kitchen table and Jess never had a chair.  What did she sit on??
